Reasons to have some green in your life:
Houseplants, especially during these times, are great allies! As people are spending a lot more time indoors.
Here are some articles that might be helpful.
Design for Orchard Nursery
“In some Native languages the term for plants translates to “those who take care of us.”
I have worked with houseplants, floral design, and interior decorating for more than 5 years. This includes teaching classes on a variety of topics including general houseplant care, orchids and their history indoors, repotting, and DIY workshops making terrariums, mini-gardens, and seasonal centerpieces. I’ve been a houseplant buyer and in charge of plant care. As a creative director I was in charge of buying pottery, plant accessories and home goods. I have a background in the arts and I’ve dabbled in metalwork, wood-carving, gardening, painting, sculpture, and singing! I’m always ready for new challenges and creative ideas.
Here is an article from Orchard Nursery, which is a beautiful family-owned garden center where I used to work Allison Ferry Spotlight
I showed my work at the De Young Museum for their annual spring floral showcase called Bouquets to Art in 2019. Bouquets to Art-Haute Living
Offerings:
In-home consultation (can be done virtually or in person with COVID-19 safe precautions):
I evaluate your space and work with your vision to create the ideal environment for your plants and recommend specific varieties.
I also look at any existing plants and can diagnose problems you may have with lighting, water, pests, etc. From there I can repot, treat, fertilize, and arrange.
Plant care
If a consultation goes well and you want to arrange in-home care for your plants regularly.
Custom botanical creations
Let’s work together to create something truly special! Some examples: Orchid arrangement for a hotel lobby, tiny succulent gardens for wedding favors, living air plants on driftwood with moss, terrariums, and container gardens.
Classes and events
Private events for bridal showers and kids’ parties. DIY classes are such a fun way to connect and be creative! With COVID-19 we can still find a way!
I also do demo classes on various topics like repotting, houseplant 101, orchids, and container-gardens.
